If you're interested in making the new 2017 Toyota RAV4 your next vehicle, you're probably wondering how it stacks up to the competition. We want you to make the most informed decision possible, so we've lined up the which is why we're going to compare the new 2017 Toyota RAV4 to the new 2017 Honda CR-V, 2017 Nissan Murano, and 2017 Ford Escape!

Toyota RAV4 vs. Honda CR-V

The RAV4 comes equipped with a number of intuitive safety features through the standard Toyota Safety Sense system, including forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control, as well as a number of other optional safety features. Comparable safety features are only offered on the higher up CR-V trim levels.

The CR-V offers slightly higher fuel economy, but the RAV4 offers nearly two gallons more in fuel capacity, allowing you to go further on a single tank of gas.

Whether you're driving through traffic, navigating a tightly packed parking lot, or turning around, maneuverability is important. The new RAV4 offers a smaller turning diameter than the CR-V by nearly three feet, allowing you to enjoy a nimble and easy to maneuver driving experience wherever you go.

Toyota RAV4 vs. Ford Escape

If fuel economy is important to you, the new RAV4 provides you with more of it than the Ford Escape. The RAV4 offers 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, while the Escape falls short with 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

When you need some get-up-and-go the new RAV4 answers the call with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder standard engine that produces 176-horsepower, compared to the similarly sized 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine in the Escape that only produces 168-horsepower.

The RAV4 is more nimble than the Escape, with a turning diameter of 34.8 feet compared to the 38.8 feet from the Escape.

The RAV4 comes with a more advanced suite of driver assist technologies thanks to the standard Safety Sense features, including lane keep assist, forward collision warning and adaptive cruise control.

Toyota RAV4 vs. Nissan Murano

When buying a new vehicle, price should always be an important factor, especially when there's as big of a difference as there is between the new RAV4 and the new Murano. The new RAV4 starts at $24,410 MSRP while the Murano starts at $29,740. That's over $5,000 you can save by choosing the RAV4. If you wanted to, you could upgrade to the RAV4 SE trim level and still have almost $1,000 left over.

Besides saving you money on the initial price, the higher estimated fuel economy in the RAV4 than the Murano will also save you money on every mile you don't have to stop. The RAV4 achieves a combined fuel economy of 26 mpg while the Murano falls short with 24 combined mpg.

With such a larger price tag, you'd expect the Murano to offer more standard tech features, but only the RAV4 offers standard safety features like forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and lane keep assist, in order to keep you and your passengers safe at all times.
