Powertrains and Configurations

The Toyota 4Runner is a genuine body-on-frame midsize SUV with standard seating for five and 47.2 cubic feet to spare for cargo, or up to 89.7 cubic feet with the second-row folded. SR5, Limited, and Nightshade models are also available with a fold-flat third-row.
Under the hood, a 4.0-liter V6 powerplant and five-speed automatic transmission get the 4Runner moving with 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. TRD and Venture SE models come standard with four-wheel drive, while other trims are rear-wheel drive and offer four-wheel drive as an option.
